Summer Day Camp Success!
MARZ partnered with CCF and the City of Warren to provide 280 STEM lessons this summer.

As the summer comes to a close, we are pleased to share that an estimated 70 students who attended a day camp program with either the Chaldean Community Foundation or Warren Parks & Recreation had a chance to explore STEM concepts with MARZ this year!
Every Wednesday for five weeks, we visited CCF’s Summer Discovery program at their Sterling Heights campus to provide lessons for three groups of students (grades 3,4 and 5).
Using our LEGO® Education kits and tablets, students gained a better understanding of energy, energy transfer, and collision through Creative Carnival Games. Each week offered a progressively more challenging build as they broadened their understanding of energy conversion (potential and kinetic) by investigating solutions for converting energy from one for another, testing and refining functions.
Each week, we looked forward to spending time with this enthusiastic group of students and staff to play and learn together!
“Having the MARZ team join us for Summer Discovery was such a great experience for our students. They really enjoyed getting to work with their hands, build, experiment, and see their ideas come to life.” Offered Rachel Hall, Education Program Director for CCF. “From creating their own LEGO projects to building and learning about robotics, the activities gave our students a chance to be creative while also practicing problem-solving and teamwork. It was great to see how engaged and excited the students were throughout the experience. MARZ brought a fun, hands-on approach to STEM that our students genuinely enjoyed.”
We also had a chance to visit with two groups of campers from Warren Parks and Recreation at their very impressive Community Center over a two-week period. Here too, students had fun learning through hands-on activities to bring concepts in science to life.
We are grateful to our Circle of Orbiters, especially Lanzen, Inc., for making it possible for us to deliver some 280 lessons at no charge! We are already looking forward to next summer as we plan for ways to expand our reach through established day camp programs!
